Alma Lasers DYE VL combines two trusted technologies, Pulsed Dye Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to create the new “GOLD STANDARD” for treatment of a variety of skin conditions including: Vascular and pigmented lesions, Port wine stains, Hemangiomas Rosacea, Angiomas and Hyperpigmentation.
The DYE- VL handpiece uses advanced fluorescent technology (AFT) which utilises the energy that would otherwise go unused and converts this to energy that can be distributed evenly, meaning that even low treatment settings can be very effective at treating and managing a variety of conditions, while minimizing the risk of adverse effects that can usually be associated with other forms of energy such as normal IPL.
The handpiece also has contact cooling which makes the treatment more comfortable to have than traditional forms of IPL.
Its ground-breaking technology can counter the effects of a variety of skin conditions including: Vascular and pigmented lesions, Port wine stains, Hemangiomas Rosacea, Angiomas and Hyperpigmentation.
The DYE VL handpiece is an effective anti-ageing treatment for:
Dye VL uses light energy to target chromophores. These are the molecules that give a lesion its color. In vascular lesions this is the hemoglobin. Once the target chromophore has been determined (either melanin for pigment or Haemoglobin for veins and redness) it is treated using the DYE VL handpiece which selectively targets the chromophore while keeping surrounding tissue intact. The contact cooling on the handpiece ensures that the treatment is as comfortable as possible, and we can cool the area before and after treating. The target is destroyed by the and is broken down by the body and gradually filtered out over time.
DYE VL is used on all skin types, but before starting any procedure we carry out a full consultation with you, to confirm your medical history and suitability for treatment.
We will also carry out a small test patch out at least 24 hours before your first treatment session.
We normally recommend a course of 2 to 3 treatments for most patients, with intervals of between 2 and 4 weeks.
However, we will discuss the number and frequency of sessions during your consultation, to make sure personal treatment plan achieve the best possible results.
As with most non-invasive treatments, if there is any downtime or recovery time, it is minimal.
Patients usually return to work or resume their daily life immediately.
However, we do recommend that you:
Results vary from person to person, but we usually expect the effects to last up to 24 months, and recommend top-up maintenance treatments once per year.
