If you want clear rejuvenated skin, or skin with that airbrushed look, then Platelet Rich Plasma therapy (PRP) is the treatment for you!
PRP uses your body’s natural potential for rejuvenating and revitalising the skin. The results give improvements in the overall tone, texture and elasticity of the skin in a natural way.
During the procedure, we take a small sample of your blood and isolate the platelets using a centrifuge. The centrifuge we use is the advanced Cytomedix Angel system, designed specifically for extracting PRP from blood samples in a clinically safe manner.
We then inject – or in the case of combination therapies, apply – the blood containing the high concentration of platelets (the PRP) into the area of your skin that needs treating.
The procedure takes around 30 to 45 minutes to complete.
After the procedure, you may experience some slight swelling and redness in the treated area.
This is normal and temporary, and we will provide you with the appropriate post-treatment care to minimise any discomfort.
Skin Rejuvenation using PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) can be used to treat:
A variety of skin conditions and blemishes, including:
As with many procedures using needles, each patient is different when it comes to sensitivity.
You may feel a tingling sensation post treatment and there may be some redness and slight swelling, but these symptoms should quickly disappear.
Adverse reactions are rare, but you can ask the practitioner for a topical anaesthesia before the treatment, if you are concerned about pain.
Your skin texture will improve over time as new tissue cells grow.
Visible results may take between 3 and 6 weeks, which will continue over the following months.
We normally expect to see the best results after a course of 1 to 3 treatments.
Evidence suggests the results of PRP skin rejuvenation therapy last longer than many chemically-based treatments – usually between 1 and 2 years.
However, results can vary from person to person, and may depend on a number of factors including:
You must inform us if you’re taking medication, including blood-thinning (anti-coagulant) medication, or if you’re undergoing steroidal or any long-term therapies.

PRP has been used in hundreds of thousands of procedures, worldwide, for the past 30 years, particularly in maxilla-facial, orthopaedic and cardiac surgery.
Because it’s based on the use of autologous tissue (in other words, it uses your blood to repair and regenerate your skin tissue), PRP is one of the safest ways to revitalise and rejuvenate your skin.
PRP therapy uses your body’s own tissue growth factors to stimulate and improve blood supply and collagen formation in the skin. As the platelets in the blood are integral to healing the skin, they naturally help in the augmentation and regeneration of skin tissue.
