Morpheus 8

As we age, skin laxity starts to let us down. This can cause lines, wrinkles, skin sagging and the appearance of jowls in the lower region of the face.

At Dr MediSpa we are well equipped to address the first and advanced signs of ageing with a variety of targeted treatments to suit your individual requirements. Radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening has become extremely popular in recent years to produce significant results, fast. This coupled with microneedling technology has produced the revolutionary treatment, Morpheus 8.

Morpheus 8 is our newest treatment offering, which combines RF technology with fractional micro pins. These pins create miniscule injuries to the skin, stimulating a natural healing response. Part of this response includes the production of new collagen and elastin fibres which tighten and smooth the skin, resulting in a healthier tone and texture to the skin with reduced fine lines and wrinkles. Morpheus 8 has been clinically-proven to delivery fractional radiofrequency energy deep in to the dermis, which further enhances skin tightening and scar reduction.

Dr MediSpa were the first UK clinic to use Morpheus 8, and Dr Somji is a global trainer for this innovative treatment. Dr MediSpa has become the go-to clinic for Morpheus 8 in the UK.

Morpheus 8 is a highly-effective stand-alone treatment, however, here at Dr MediSpa we are obtaining superb results when we combine this treatment with FaceTite™, a non-surgical alternative to facial liposuction which heats the lower tissues of the skin as well as removing unwanted areas of fat, using a specially created cannula. It’s a minimally-invasive procedure which does not require a general anaesthetic. When used in conjunction with the Morpheus 8, we can reach multiple layers of the skin for a holistic approach to skin tightening and facial contouring.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know I am suitable for Morpheus 8?

As this treatment is non-surgical, most people with ageing skin will benefit from the treatment. However, in a no-obligation consultation, our skin specialist will assess your skin type, general health and requirements for results and then decide if the procedure will be both safe and effective for you.

What happens during the treatment?

A topical anaesthetic will be applied to your skin, 45 minutes prior to the procedure. The hand-held device will then be placed over the areas of concern and you may feel some tingling and heating of the skin. The treatment will take approximately 30 minutes (without numbing time)

Does it hurt?

As a topical anaesthetic is used prior to treatment, Morpheus 8 should not be painful. However, you may experience some sensation such as a pricking feeling or warming of the skin, though any discomfort will be managed with the numbing cream.

Is there any downtime?

As Morpheus 8 is a non-surgical procedure you will experience minimal downtime. It is normal however to have red, shiny skin after the treatment for around 5 days. You may also notice that your skin will peel during this time.

For the first few days after the procedure you will need to avoid strong sunlight and wear a high factor SPF as well as a good quality moisturiser (we offer a range of clinical skin care at Dr MediSpa which will help to reduce any redness and offer proven results). Avoid applying makeup the day of your procedure and after this, a good mineral makeup is advised.

When will I see the results?

You will notice results after your first treatment and over time, these will improve. However, your skin specialist may suggest a course of treatments, depending on your unique and individual skin concerns.
