Is anti-wrinkle treatment safe?

As with any injectable procedure, wrinkle-smoothing injections should only be practiced in a sterile environment by a fully-qualified medical professional.

It is important not to be tempted to take cheap, ‘quick fix’ injections by unqualified practitioners, however accessible or seemingly reasonable the price.

At Dr MediSpa, this popular procedure is extremely safe because it is only administered in the clinic by a medical professional.

How do I know if I qualify for anti-wrinkle injection treatments?

Before any treatment, your practitioner will consult with you about your needs, desires.

We will manage your expectations, and advise if wrinkle-smoothing injections is the route to take.

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure takes around 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how many injection sites are needed.

Your practitioner will allow around 15 to 20 minutes for the appointment.

How long does it take to achieve results?

The complete results can take up to 7 days.

A good practitioner will always suggest that you return for a ‘top-up’ about a fortnight after treatment, if needed.

How long do the effects last?

The longevity varies, but usually the results last between 3 and 6 months.

Is there any post-treatment aftercare?

For at least 24 hours following treatment, we recommend you avoid:

rubbing your face
bending forward
strenuous physical exercise.

Any of these might cause the injected product to spread to unwanted areas, or lead to a ‘drooping’ effect in the eyelid. In the unlikely event that this does occur, we can supply drops that should rectify the problem.

How does anti-wrinkle treatment work?

The treatment involves injecting under the skin, which paralyses (relaxes or ‘freezes’) certain facial muscles to give a smoother, more youthful appearance to the skin.

He is very thorough, and won’t do any treatments he doesn’t think are necessary, he actually persuaded me to have less! During the consultation I was educated on all the risks, pros and cons, and measured my facial proportions to work out exactly what was best to suit my face naturally. His theory is ‘less is more’ and I completely agree! I went in thinking I needed jawline filler, lip filler, cheek filler and Botox which is what I’ve been told by other places, being ‘sold too’, in fact all I needed was a touch of lip and chin filler to balance my symmetry and this was absolutely perfect! He’s a master at the Cannula method, I felt minimal discomfort, had 0 bruising because the tip is blunt and my anxiety of injectables is now much less as I now know this is the safest method. I couldn’t recommend Dr Somji any more, professional, patient, understanding, safe and a master Injector! The Drs  assistant Elli was very sweet too making sure I felt comfortable through out, embarrassingly held my hand to calm my nerves which I might add really helped! 5 stars!!!!
