Radiofrequency is used to heat carefully selected levels of the skin. This results in new collagen formation, fat cell breakdown and skin remodelling. Dermal heating is an extremely effective alternative to surgery and does not damage surrounding tissues. It provides no downtime which means that following the treatment, you can return to your daily activities with no discomfort or side-effects. Accent can also be used following procedures such as liposuction to help with swelling and to smooth out the skin for the best possible outcome.
The combined ultrasound uses pond ripple-like waves which are dispersed homogenously throughout the treatment area. This technology selectively damages fatty cell membranes so that the fat components are then released in to the blood stream and are dispersed via the lymphatic system. This process is called ‘selective lipolysis’ and results in a circumfarel reduction. The ultrasound applicator has been developed to offer high speed body contouring. Typically, a treatment with the ultrasound device will last around 20 minutes, depending on the areas required.
Accent can improve fatty areas and can produce some inch loss. However, it’s important to know that Accent is not a stand-alone weight loss programme and will not significantly alter your overall weight. The Accent treatment wand is applied to the affected area in a circular motion. This delivers heat energy to the skin, causing it to tighten and produce a longer-term repair process, increasing levels of collagen in the skin. Depending on the area/s treated, the process can take between 45 and 90 minutes. Discomfort is minimal and many patients compare it to that of having a warm massage.
To achieve long lasting results, we recommend a course of six treatments, two weeks apart. Many patients also find it beneficial to come for a top up treatment every 1.5 to 2 years.
