Subcision involves using specialised needles to dissect acne scarring from underneath the skin. It is a non-surgical treatment which can be used effectively in the beginning of a course of treatments to lift the scar and promote collagen induction.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is considered a more ‘natural’ non-surgical treatment. It utilizes your own growth factors found within your blood to heal and replenish the skin. A sample of your blood is taken and separated in a specially designed centrifuge. When the PRP is re-injected back into the areas of concern, the growth factors work in synergy with the tissues, promoting collagen formation and encouraging a healing response.
Platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix contains fibrin in addition to platelets and acts a mesh for prolonged growth factor release in comparison to PRP. This means the effects are more marked.
