AgeJET Plasma Therapy

AgeJET is our advanced plasma skin therapy, which we use to treat fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and scarring. Because it can be used on thin, delicate skin, it is suitable for treating the eyes.

The skin can succumb to a myriad of conditions as we age and as a result, we may need more than simple creams and serums to keep it looking youthful and healthy, over time. At DrMedispa in London and Essex, we offer the most innovative, clinically-proven skin rejuvenation treatments to maintain good skin health and a revitalised appearance for our patients.

Plasma has been popular as a skin regeneration treatment for several years, but many devices can cause discomfort and lengthy downtime. We, however, offer one of the most revolutionary, safe and comfortable plasma treatments on the market. This treatment is called AgeJET.

Frequently asked questions

What is AgeJET Plasma?

AgeJET is a type of plasma device which utilises nitrogen gas to create a thermal injury deep within the skin. The plasma created preserves the outer layer of the skin, until new skin forms over the course of 10 days. Improvements in the surface of the skin appear soon after the treatment.

AgeJET can be used to treat even the most delicate areas, such as the upper and lower eyelids. Something many laser and injectable treatments cannot do.

What happens during a treatment?

Following an initial consultation with one of our specialist practitioners, where your medical history will be checked and the treatments available to you are discussed, you will be able to undergo your first AgeJET Plasma treatment.
A numbing cream may be applied, to maximise comfort during the procedure, depending on its strength, and once this has taken effect, the device will be passed over the treatment area. Usual treatment times are around 30 to 45 minutes.
Once the initial treatment is complete, you will be able to leave the clinic.

What strength treatment will I need?

Low energy – improvement of fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles and increased skin permeability, which aids topical product efficacy. Acne bacteria is mitigated. The skin appears refined. Very little downtime. Several treatments may be required.

Medium energy – noticeable improvements to signs of ageing, wrinkles, lines and age spots. No medical downtime, however, redness, potential swelling, skin tightness and dryness may last up to 5 days. A home moisturising regime will be required and after a few days you may notice shedding and/or a temporary darkening of the skin. 2 to 3 treatments may be required.

High energy – results are comparable to ablative treatments but will far less downtime and risk of post-treatment complications. A significant improvement to your overall skin health and appearance will be experienced and a contouring and tightening of the skin can be seen. No medical downtime, however, redness, potential swelling and feeling of skin tightness and dryness may last between 4 and 10 days. A home moisturising regime will be required and after a few days you will experience shedding and temporary darkening of the skin. After around 6 days, you will be able to use makeup and feel confident to have face to face/Zoom meetings if required. Typically, only 1 treatment is required.

What is the recovery time?

Around 4 to 10 days downtime may be expected, following each treatment, though recovery time at home is not required. You might see moderate to severe skin peeling, depending on the strength of the chosen treatment and there will most likely be some redness and tenderness, following each treatment. In your initial consultation, your Dr Medispa practitioner will explain in detail, what to expect by means of healing and downtime.

When would I expect to see the results?

You should see tighter skin over the treated area, immediately. Over the course of several weeks to a month, new skin regeneration will result in smoother, firmer and more rejuvenated skin.
