What is it?
Tear Trough Filler is a cosmetic surgery procedure that involves injecting hyaluronic acid filler into the under-eye area, reducing the appearance of any dark circles under the eyes, rejuvenating the skin and making the under-eye area look fresher, and plumper. If you are suffering from ‘bags’ under your eyes or visible tiredness, Tear Trough Filler will rejuvenate the area and revitalise the appearance of your face, and plump out any areas where volume has been lost. Although this treatment has been around for years, it is picking up in popularity over the last year due to the amazing results it achieves.
Dr Somji’s Procedure:
After the under-eye area is numbed using topical numbing cream, Dr Somji uses a specialist micro-droplet technique of injecting the dermal filler and gliding gently through the cheek area, using a micro-cannula (blunt needle) for added safety and reduced swelling. Dr Somji’s protocol technique of using a cannula decreases the chance of any health risks throughout the procedure, and is much safer than using a regular needle to inject the filler. You won’t feel any pain during the procedure once the numbing cream has been applied, just some light pulling or tugging from the cannula. The procedure takes 15-30 minutes, and once he is satisfied with the result you can return to your daily activities.
The Results:
During the procedure, the results of the filler eliminating the dark circles under the eyes can be seen immediately. Once the procedure is finished you will see an immediate result and any darkness or tired-looking skin in your under-eye area will no longer be visible. No need to wait any longer to get rid of those dark areas.
After having the procedure:
Every patient is different, however it’s normal to experience some minor swelling or bruising afterwards. It’s worth some downtime or bruising to look fresh, rejuvenated and get rid of those dark areas! You will be advised not to rub or touch the area and to avoid excessive alcohol consumption, hot baths, steam rooms and saunas up to a week afterwards, to minimise any bruising. A week after the procedure, you can resume back to all normal activities, and will be in awe of your new refreshed, volumised, wide-awake looking face!
Is this a permanent fix?
The results of Tear Trough filler treatment can last up to a year, so this means a whole year of not having to worry about covering up those circles with masses of makeup. You’re advised to return for a review or another session after a year, to maintain your new wide-awake look.
