The secret to Q-Switched technology is the multi-wave laser system, to remove the full spectrum of pigments used in tattoos:

The laser injects the skin with an intense light, which, in-turn, penetrates the skin and breaks up the ink particles left by the tattoo. Over time and a course of sessions, this will fade the tattoo. The body’s immune system will then remove these pigments naturally, over the course of the treatment. The laser only targets the pigmented skin, leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.
