Deep skin remodelling for anti-ageing and radiance

As we age, skin laxity starts to let us down. This can cause lines, wrinkles, skin sagging and the appearance of jowls in the lower region of the face. DrMediSpa is a Centre of Excellence for Morpheus8, which presents a new solution to anti-aging and skin resurfacing. We became the first UK clinic to use Morpheus8, and Dr Somji is a global trainer for this innovative treatment.

Morpheus8 combines radiofrequency technology with fractional micro pins. These pins create minuscule injuries to the skin, stimulating a natural healing response.

Part of this response includes the production of new collagen and elastin fibres which tighten and smooth the skin, resulting in a healthier tone and texture to the skin with reduced fine lines and wrinkles. Morpheus8 has been clinically-proven to delivery fractional radiofrequency energy deep in to the dermis, which further enhances skin tightening and scar reduction.

Results are long-lasting and continue to improve over a period of months after treatment, as new collagen and elastin develops. We use Morpheus8 at DrMediSpa on the face and body to resurface and tighten skin, to improve skin texture and tone, and to contour and lift the face.

  • Stimulates collagen renewal for a youthful glow
  • Treats wrinkles and skin laxity, defines facial contours
  • Reduces the appearance of scarring and uneven skin tone
  • Natural and deep skin remodelling
  • Safely tightens skin almost anywhere on the face and body

Morpheus8 and FaceTite™

Looking for unrivalled face lifting and contouring?

Morpheus8 is an incredible stand-alone treatment, however, here at Dr MediSpa we are obtaining superb results when we combine this treatment with FaceTite™, a non-surgical alternative to facial liposuction which heats the lower tissues of the skin as well as removing unwanted areas of fat, using a specially created cannula. FaceTite™ is a minimally-invasive procedure which does not require a general anaesthetic. When used in conjunction with the Morpheus8, we can reach multiple layers of the skin for a holistic approach to skin tightening and facial contouring.

Frequently asked questions about Morpheus8

Where can Morpheus8 treat?

Morpheus8 can be used to resurface and instigate collagen renewal; it’s most commonly used on the face, neck, abdomen, back and legs/buttocks. It is delicate enough to use around the eye area. DrMediSpa can also treat hands, elbows and knees with Morpheus8.

How does Morpheus8 work?

Morpheus8 is a fractional skin treatment delivers radiofrequency energy to the skin. The 24 needles on the device penetrate the skin at specific depths between 1-5mm, to deliver the heating energy to the dermis. This is clinically proven to stimulate collagen contraction and the production of new collagen and elastin, which tightens the skin.

How do I know I am suitable for Morpheus8?

As this treatment is non-surgical, most people with ageing skin will benefit from the treatment. However, in a no-obligation consultation, our skin specialist will assess your skin type, general health and requirements for results and then decide if the procedure will be both safe and effective for you.

Is Morpheus8 suitable for my skin tone?

Morpheus8 has a unique ‘colour blind technology’ which allows us to treat skins of any type and tone. Where other resurfacing and skin tightening treatments can cause more harm than good, DrMediSpa trusts Morpheus8 to safely treat skin of colour.

Can Morpheus8 be used for scarring?

DrMediSpa is renowned for its scarring treatments, and Morpheus8 is one of a multitute of technologies we use to treat scarring, including acne scars. A bespoke treatment plan will be put together at consultation between you and one of our practitioners. Ask us if you are considering Morpheus8 skin resurfacing.

What happens during the Morpheus8 treatment?

A topical anaesthetic will be applied to your skin, 45 minutes prior to the procedure. The hand-held device will then be placed over the areas of concern and you may feel some tingling and heating of the skin. The treatment will take approximately 30 minutes (without numbing time)

Does Morpheus8 hurt?

As a topical anaesthetic is used prior to treatment, Morpheus8 should not be painful. However, you may experience some sensation such as a pricking feeling or warming of the skin, though any discomfort will be managed with the numbing cream.

Is there any downtime with Morpheus8?

As Morpheus8 is a non-surgical procedure you will experience minimal downtime. It is normal however to have red, shiny skin after the treatment for around 5 days. You may also notice that your skin will peel during this time.

For the first few days after the procedure you will need to avoid strong sunlight and wear a high factor SPF as well as a good quality moisturiser (we offer a range of clinical skin care at Dr MediSpa which will help to reduce any redness and offer proven results). Avoid applying makeup the day of your procedure and after this, a good mineral makeup is advised.

When will I see the results of Morpheus8? How long do they last?

Visible results seen within days continue to improve over a period of months, as new collagen forms deep within your skin. These results are permanent and can last years, but of course your renewed collagen will eventually break down again. Your skin specialist may suggest a course of treatments, depending on your unique and individual skin concerns.

Do you combine Morpheus8 with other treatments?

Morpheus8 is a superb option when combined with our other surgical and non-surgical treatments at DrMediSpa. We often employ Morpheus8 alongside FaceTite, BodyTite, dermal fillers and skin peels. We may use Morpheus8 at the same time as your other treatments, or your practitioner may schedule separate appointments as part of your bespoke treatment plan. You can discuss this at consultation.

How much is Morpheus8?

Your skin will need assessment to determine your suitability for Morpheus8 and how many treatments you will need. 90% of patients at DrMediSpa require 1-3 treatments, which start from £650 per session. Morpheus8 with Dr Somji, global trainer, is £1000 per session.

Can I train with Dr Somji in Morpheus8 treatment?

Dr Somji is delighted to welcome industry professionals and their teams to train in delivering Morpheus8 treatments to the highest standards. To register your interest, please email the clinic.
