Low level light therapy for hair loss

Low level light (LLL) therapy is considered a major part of the non-surgical approach to hair loss.

Low level light therapy for hair loss involves wearing a cap (which you can buy from the clinic) that stimulates hair growth, via red light emitted from laser diodes inside the cap. The red light is absorbed by the skin and hair cells.

According to medical literature, LLL therapy will:

  • increase blood flow and stop hair loss in 85% of cases
  • stimulate new hair growth in 55% of cases.

We also offer alternative medical solutions subject to consultation with Dr Somji.

Frequently asked questions

Does Low Level Light therapy hurt?

LLL therapy does not cause any pain, burning or scarring to the skin.

How often do I wear the cap?

Generally, wearing the cap as often and as long as possible is the most advantageous.

However, during your consultation the practitioner will give you more specific advice about the amount of time and frequency that will achieve the best results for you.
