Frequently asked questions

How does Soprano ICE work?

Soprano ICE cools the skin with an encircled sapphire tip, which prevents surface burns while maintaining heat within the dermis.

This high-fluency delivery system provides an even more comfortable and faster treatment, with improved results for light-coloured and thin hair.

A more ergonomic design also means Soprano ICE is now even easier to use, especially for smaller, difficult-to-target areas like the eyebrows, nose and ears.

How long does laser hair removal last?

To date, there is no laser hair removal treatment that permanently removes unwanted hair.

However, after each laser hair removal session, you will have a hair-free period and as your treatments progress, this period will last longer and longer.

Once a course of treatment has finished, your hair-free period could last several months, even up to a year. Once this result is achieved, we recommend a yearly top-up treatment for maintenance.

Is Soprano ICE suitable for my skin?

With the industry Gold Standard 810 Diode Laser – and its unique, patented high-repetition rate and high-fluency delivery system – Soprano ICE is the safest laser available for all skin types.

Darker skin types may need a number of additional treatments for best results, compared to lighter skins.

How do I prepare for treatment?

It is helpful if the area to be treated is shaved and free of creams, lotions or perfumes before you arrive for your appointment.

Also, we ask that you

  • do not use any fake tans or wash-off tans before treatment – your skin must be its natural colour
  • avoid using products such as retinoid or steroid creams on the area to be treated
  • tell us about any prescribed or non-prescribed medication you are taking.

We will discuss how to prepare for the procedure during your initial consultation, when we will also ask you about any medication you are taking.

How long does the treatment take?

For a small area, such as the face or underarms, one session will take around 5 to 15 minutes.

For medium-sized areas, such as bikini and half legs, the treatment will take around 30 minutes.

For large areas including full legs or full back, it will take about 1 to 1.5 hours.

Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime following the treatment, and you can return to your daily activities straight away.

Some people may experience a slight warmth or redness in the treated areas, but this is unusual and should disappear within a few hours.

*Results may vary from person to person. These images may be after a number of sessions and combination treatments.
