Exosomes for skin and hair rejuvenation

Ageing is an inevitable fact of life and the effects that it has on the skin and hair can be palpable. For many of us wishing to stay as youthful and healthy looking as possible, the quest for skin and hair rejuvenation can be daunting and confusing. With so many surgical and non-surgical treatments available, it can be difficult to decide which is right for our individual needs. At Dr Medispa in London and Essex, we like to take the confusion out of cosmetic enhancement and therefore have painstakingly researched and tried a myriad of procedures and their protocols, so that we can advise you on the most effective, safe and appropriate treatments for your unique concerns.

One of the most recent innovations in non-surgical skin and scalp rejuvenation that we now offer is the use of injectable exosomes, which are responsible for a variety of healing and regenerative processes within the skin. At Dr Medispa we offer ASCEplus, cold chain and rose derived exosomes by ExoCoBio; prominent players in the field of exosome-based regenerative medicine.

Frequently asked questions

What are Exosomes?

Exosomes are nanometric endoplasmic reticulums, which are secreted by the cell walls for the purpose of intercellular information. They are made up of a fundamental substance which assists in the transmission of signals between cells, playing a role in delivering biologically active substances to recipient cells, for various regenerative cellular functions. In short, exosomes can play a significant part in cellular healing and rejuvenation, leading to improvements in overall skin and hair quality.

ASCEplus – this substance utilises a freeze-dried exosome solution, derived from rose stems (RSC-Exosome), which when combined with other highly-active ingredients creates a patented technology which purifies the exosomes. This action ensures that the substance is of the highest purity and efficacy. These exosomes contain cytokines, growth factors and genetic material which when injected in to the skin, helps to repair tissues and strengthen immunity.

The exosome products we use here at Dr Medispa all possess anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties, making them suitable for a wide range of aesthetic applications, improving skin texture and reducing the signs of ageing.

Exosomes can be combines with other procedures such as laser therapy or microneedling to maximise the efficacy of the treatment.

Am I suitable for a treatment using exosomes at Dr Medispa?

Most people who are noticing the first or more significant signs of skin ageing or hair loss can benefit from a course of one or more exosome treatments. However, before we can agree upon the course of action for your individual skin or hair concerns, we will ask that you attend a no obligation consultation. It is at this initial meeting that you can discuss with your Dr Medispa practitioner, what is troubling you about your skin or hair and your goals for improvement. We will also check your medical history to make sure that it would be safe for you to undergo a treatment using exosomes. Once we are satisfied that this treatment would be suitable and safe for you to undergo, you can book your first treatment appointment.

What happens during a treatment using exosomes at Dr Medispa?

If treatment is for the face, your skin will be cleansed. A topical anaesthetic will then be used, to maximise your comfort. If we are treating your scalp, we can apply an injectable anaesthetic, beforehand. Once the numbing application has taken effect (usually within 30 minutes), the exosome solution will be injected in to specifically chosen areas. The treatment should not take any longer than 45 minutes. Once it is complete, you will be given some aftercare instructions, along with any at-home-use products, which can maximise the effects of your injectable exosomes treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

This all depends on your individual requirements and your skin or hair quality. For significant skin ageing and for more long-term results, we would recommend 3 to 5 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart. For hair restoration, we may need to administer more treatments. For mild skin concerns, you may experience the results you are looking to achieve in just a single treatment.

When will I see the results of my exosome treatment?

Depending on your individual concerns, you may see results in as little as 4 weeks after your first treatment session. However, for more significant skin ageing or hair concerns, we would advise on the number of sessions required and when you could start to experience the results. Maintenance sessions may be required every 6 to 12 months to continue the initial results.

Why did we choose ExoCoBio at Dr Medispa?

At Dr Medispa we are dedicated to offering our patients the most effective and safest cosmetic treatments on the market. ExCoBio is a company which has a strong scientific background, holding records for the highest number of scientific publications as well as the highest number of patents (more than 45). ExoCoBio’s ASCEplus exosomes are plant-based exosomes which are extracted from rose stem cells. They contain a myriad of skin regenerating ingredients, such as peptides, growth factors and glutathione, as well as several key factors that make them unique. The method of extraction which ExoCoBio use is also patented. The exosomes are isolated and filtered using a double-filtration system. This method excludes almost all impurities and ensures that the exosomes retain maximum immunomodulatory, regenerative and anti-inflammatory properties of the stem cells.
