Ellansé

As we age, our skin can lose its structural proteins (collagen and elastin). This process can cause the skin to begin to sag and lose Its elasticity. This all contributes to a tired and aged looking complexion.

At Dr. MediSpa in Loughton and Chiltern Street, London, we offer a range of dermal fillers to combat the signs of ageing skin and to create an improved tone and texture for the skin’s tissues. One of the most effective and long-lasting dermal fillers we use is Ellansé.

Frequently asked questions

What makes Ellansé different?

Unlike most dermal fillers on the market, Ellansé is a non-hyaluronic acid dermal fillers which works naturally within your skin, thanks to its unique properties. When injected, it not only corrects wrinkles and folds but also stimulates your own collagen production, treating the underlying causes of facial ageing. The effects are gradual but last up to 4 years, giving you a natural and youthful appearance.

What is Ellansé made of?

Ellansé’s principle component is Poly-Caprolactone (PCL) microspheres – a bio-resorbable soft medical polymer. The PCL is suspended in a gel carrier made of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC).

What does Ellansé do?

Ellansé is injected into the skin to lift, sculpt and restore lost volume, all of which are associated with skin ageing.

How happy with their treatment, are patients who have had Ellansé?

In recent clinical studies, 82% of patients were satisfied with Ellansé, 24 months following the treatment and 78% of patients wished to repeat the treatment.

Signs of skin ageing include

• Sagging face
• Deep lines and wrinkles
• Pronounced nasolabial folds
• Undefined jowls and lower facial contours

After 12 months of Ellansé

• Softened nasolabial folds
• Re-created and more define jawline
• Volume replenished in areas such as the cheeks and temples.
• A more toned and resilient skin

How do I know I am suitable for Ellansé?

To determine whether you are a suitable candidate for Ellansé, Dr Somji will conduct a no obligation consultation to assess your skin quality and discuss your concerns, as well as check your medical history to ensure you are fit and well enough for treatment and have no contraindications which may affect your procedure.

What happens during a treatment with Ellansé

As with any dermal filler procedure, a small amount of numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area, which will be cleansed and sterilised. Once the numbing cream takes effect, Dr Somji will inject small quantities of the Ellansé dermal filler. He will then give you advice on how to care for yourself after treatment.

Is there any downtime or side-effects?

There is no clinical downtime with Ellansé and you can return to your daily activities within reason. Though strenuous exercise and taking saunas or steam rooms is not advised for a couple of days after your treatment. You may experience some tenderness, swelling and bruising in the treatment area but this is normal and will subside in a few days.

When will I see results with Ellansé?

Ellansé is a safe and proven dermal filler which will offer both immediate and gradual results over an extended period of time. This gives Ellansé the edge over its competitors, as many HA dermal fillers only last between 4 to 12 months.
