Earlobes are commonly stretched or torn as a result of wearing heavy earrings or during trauma. Stretched earlobes can also be caused as a result of wearing ear lobe discs as a fashion.
As a cosmetic surgeon, Dr Somji carefully reconstructs the earlobe so that it looks naturally shaped as it was before by carefully dissecting and stitching the area, so that it is able to be re-pierced again after you have healed. The reconstruction surgery takes from 30-60 minutes depending on the case.
Patients can resume normal activities after 48 hours and stitches are removed after 10 days.
