Advanced skin rejuvenation using cold plasma technology.
At Dr. Medispa, we continually invest in the most advanced and evidence-led technologies to deliver the best outcomes for our patients. Our latest innovation is the Prism Plasma device, and we’re proud to be one of the UK’s first research centres for Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) treatments.
This non-surgical skin resurfacing treatment utilises radiofrequency energy and microplasma to create tiny, controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This stimulates the body’s natural healing process, encouraging collagen production and skin renewal.
Thanks to its dual-technology design, Prism Plasma is a versatile solution for a wide range of skin and hair concerns. Whether you are looking to improve skin quality, treat specific conditions, or simply enhance your natural radiance, this innovative device offers impressive results with minimal downtime.
It is the world’s first FDA-approved fractional plasma device to integrate Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) technology. Developed with clinical precision and safety in mind, Prism Plasma merges two cutting-edge modalities – Voltaic Arc Plasma Energy and a customisable digital scanner – to deliver exceptional treatment control, comfort, and consistency.
This dual-technology platform combines:
Prism Plasma is effective across all skin types and tones, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a safe, non-invasive treatment tailored to their individual needs.
We’re using cold plasma for a range of common concerns across the skin and scalp:
Skin Treatments
Scalp & Hair Treatments

The Prism Plasma device delivers exceptional results while prioritising comfort and skin safety. It offers both immediate improvements and long-term rejuvenation.
Key benefits include:
If you are seeking to improve the tone, texture and quality of your skin without significant discomfort or downtime, this technology could be the solution for you.
CAP can treat a myriad of skin conditions, making it highly versatile for many people and most skin types.
Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) is a form of plasma, the fourth state of matter. It is generated at atmospheric pressure and room temperature. CAP is produced by applying an electric field to a gas, ionising it and creating reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS). These RONS, along with other plasma components such as UV radiation, make CAP a powerful tool for both aesthetic and medical treatments.
• CAP operates at room temperature, making it safe for application on the skin.
• As CAP is generated under normal atmospheric pressure, it is easy to implement and control.
• RONS are highly reactive molecules, which makes them effective at interacting with cells and tissues.
• CAP can promote tissue regeneration and accelerate wound healing.
• CAP may be utilised for treating various skin conditions as well as for addressing skin ageing.
• CAP has demonstrated potential in the treatment of certain cancer tumours by inhibiting their growth and migration.
• CAP can modify the skin’s surface, enhancing the absorption of topical therapies.
• CAP can reduce surface bacteria and skin inflammation.
• CAP helps oxygenate the skin, thereby improving skin health.
• CAP enhances hair and scalp tissue integrity, providing restorative treatments for the hair.
Thanks to its dual technology, Prism Plasma can address numerous skin and hair concerns across the body and on most skin types. However, before beginning treatment, we require a pre-treatment consultation.
This initial appointment allows you to discuss your concerns and goals with your practitioner. We’ll assess your skin, review your medical history, and recommend a personalised treatment plan. You’ll then be able to schedule your first session.
Your skin will be cleansed of any makeup before we apply the Prism plasma device. Following this, the device is held just above the skin layer and then passed over your skin in a grid formation. You may experience a mild warming sensation, but this should not be painful. Most patients describe the sensation as mild and tolerable.
Once the treatment is completed, you can return to your everyday activities without the need for recovery at home.
There may be some warmth, slight redness, swelling, and bruising following your Prism cold Plasma treatment, but these should not be extensive and will subside in a few hours. Bruising can take up to five days to diminish, but it should be minimal.
Like any treatment, results can vary. How quickly you see improvements depends on the your skin concern, and the overall quality of your skin. For some patients, optimal results may be achieved after just one treatment. However, we may recommend a series of several treatments to help you reach your skin goals.
Hair and scalp treatments may require ongoing sessions for one to three months before optimum results are observed.
Many patients achieve long-term results with a course of cold plasma treatments. However, to maintain these initial results, we recommend maintenance treatments every six to twelve months. As with all aesthetic treatments, ongoing ageing will occur, but regular maintenance helps preserve your results
