Signature Facials

This must-have facial treatment, the Signature Facial, has been exclusively designed and developed by Dr. Munir Somji here at Dr. MediSpa, to tailor-make a bespoke plan to address your unique and individual skin concerns. Your skin will look amazing in all your wedding photos! There are three main steps to the Signature Facial.

The first is a pre-treatment assessment where Dr. Somji will discuss with you your concerns, treatment plan and desired results, as well as your medical history and suitability to the various treatment offerings available.

The next step is the ‘base’ step, which can consist of either an acid peel, Aquafacial deep cleanse or Dermaplaning, to cleanse and resurface the skin’s texture and regulate oil production.

The third step is the ‘add on’ treatment. This can be a skin peel, Dermaplaning, specific mask application or a device-led LED mask to treat a variety of skin concerns from acne to fine lines and wrinkles. After one of our signature facials, your skin will look and feel amazing. A course of treatment may be recommended for optimum results.

Wrinkle-Smoothing Injections

Now one of the world’s most popular injectable treatment for dynamic lines and wrinkles, wrinkle-smoothing injections (or Botox as they are more commonly recognised) temporarily relax the muscles that can cause the following lines and wrinkles:

• Crow’s feet
• Forehead lines
• Bunny lines (sides of the nose)
• Glabella lines (or “11s”, lines between the eyebrows)
• Neck lines

The procedure takes around 15 minutes and is not painful. Results can take up to a week to optimise and can last several months. This is a fast and effective treatment to ensure your dynamic lines are minimised for those so important wedding pictures!

Dermal Fillers

Like wrinkle-smoothing injections, dermal fillers are now extremely popular for creating youth and volume in areas of the face in need of rejuvenation. They act to plump and fill out static lines and facial furrows, hollow areas such as the temples and lower cheeks and to lift the lower face using a special technique which consists of multiple injections in the upper cheeks and surrounding areas. Dermal fillers can also rebalance and add volume to your lips, or correct a misshapen nose.

Dermal fillers can last anything up to 12 months and sometimes longer, depending on the substance used and your individual concern. The beauty of dermal fillers is that you will see an immediate as well as developing improvements. Immediately lines will be filled and the skin ‘plumped’ out. Over time, the hyaluronic acid which is present in most dermal fillers will help to rehydrate the skin from within.

It is best to undergo dermal filler injections around a month before your big day, as you may experience some swelling and bruising, which is perfectly normal.

Cryotherapy (Fat Freezing)

You may be working out hard and watching what you eat in preparation for the big day. However, small and stubborn areas of fat may be lingering, which are really, tough to shift through diet and exercise alone. Fortunately, there is a non-surgical and medically-proven treatment available here at Dr. MediSpa which can shift stubborn areas of subcutaneous fat fast!

This treatment is Fat Freezing, or Cryolipolysis. Our  device is placed on the skin, creating a vacuum; the area is then cooled to up to minus 4 degrees. Doing this destroys the membrane around the fat cells and causes their contents to empty. The liquid fat is then eliminated by the body’s own lymphatic system.

A course of treatment may be needed over a series of weeks for the best results, however, many patients can notice a difference after just one session. Have your dress maker standing by for some last-minute alterations!

Laser Hair Removal

The last thing you want on your wedding day, wedding night and indeed your honeymoon is to be worrying about excess or unwanted hair. Waxing can be super-painful, as can epilation and shaving can be a nuisance and cause the skin to be irritated and dry out. Laser hair removal works by emitting a special wavelength of light in to the hair follicle, retarding hair growth. Over time, your hair will become finer and thinner, even lighter in colour and after a course of treatment, you could enjoy a permanent reduction in hair growth.
