Henal Somji talked to West Essex Life Magazine recently, about turning dreams into reality, her future ambitions and her addiction to Netflix.

Who are you and what do you do?

I am Henal Somji, I am an aesthetic nurse at Dr Medi Spa in Loughton.

Where do you live and why?

I live in Lambourne End, it is such a lovely place to live with its greenery and quietness. I moved here last year after getting married.

What is the best part of your job?

I like meeting new people and making them look and feel good about themselves. I really enjoy doing hair transplants with Dr Somji because I find it very rewarding seeing patients with no hair then come in with a head full of it, it really does boost people’s confidence.

What is the worst part of your job?

Although we help lots of people and change people’s lives there are still some people who we are unfortunately unable to help as technology is not as advanced. However, luckily the industry moves very quickly.

How do you relax?

Lounging on the sofa and watching Netflix’s or spending time with my friends and family. I don’t get to relax very often because there is always something going on so when I get the chance I make the most of it.

How do you like to spend your time with your family?

I mostly spend my time at home or go for quiet dinners as I don’t get to see them that often as I’m always so busy with work.

Do you have a fitness regime?

I wish! I haven’t been to the gym in a year, but I would like to start making time to go because it’s good for the mind as well as my health. However, I love my sleep too much, so waking up extra early is the last thing I would like to do!

What is your favourite clothing shop?

Karen Millen without a doubt. All of my patients at work are always complimenting me on my dresses. I love shopping there because I like their classy designs and they fit very well.

What is your beauty must have this season?

I’m currently in love with Dr Somji’s lip plumper, I’m addicted to it as well as his designer skin peels. My skin is flawless and having a good skincare regime means I don’t have to wear too much makeup. However, as much as I love makeup, sometimes less is more.

Do you have a guilty pleasure?

I have a huge sweet tooth and I love desserts. I always love a cheeky visit to Belsit, their bannoffee pie is out of this world.

What is your biggest achievement in your career so far?

Starting my own business, it’s something I always wanted but never thought I would achieve it as soon as I did. Having married my husband who is an aesthetic doctor meant that we could open up our own clinic together. We were the first clinic to open up in Loughton, having such great feedback we hope to open more. I am so glad we did it because things have been great for us so far and I hope it remains that way!

Can you share your future ambitions?

I would like to have children in the next few years and have my own little family. I also hope to have a chain of clinics throughout the UK and maybe even abroad! Hard work eventually pays off and persistence is always key!
