During your PlexR® treatment
Before starting the treatment, we will apply a topical anaesthetic. This needs about 45 minutes to take effect.
The PlexR® procedure is not painful, but the anaesthetic helps to reduce any discomfort around more sensitive areas. The doctor will advise you about taking paracetamol before the treatment, to further minimise discomfort.
During the PlexR® treatment, you may be aware of a slight burning smell and some warmth in the treated area. This is the sublimation process at work, and nothing to be worried about.
The treatment time for the lower face and neck areas – after the anaesthetic has taken effect – is about an hour.
Side effects and aftercare
You will experience some swelling and small brownish spots after PlexR® treatment. This is normal and will heal within about 7 days of the treatment.
To help the skin to heal, you should not pick or scratch the treated area.
We will give you advice and recommendations about healing creams and camouflage makeup, in your consultation and after the treatment session.
Results
You should see the results of the PlexR® immediately after treatment.
But the beauty of PlexR® is that the results will only get better as time goes on.
The plasma’s effect on the upper cells of the skin is to produce new collagen, leading to plumper and more hydrated skin.
